Nashville Weightlifting Club has been serving the community of Middle Tn since 2009 under the guidance of 1992 Barcelona Olympian Coach Osman Manzanares.

We Provide High Level Training for Athletes in the Sport of Olympic Weightlifting.

Nashville Weightlifting Club is also the house of Fort Nash Weightlifting Club

which was created by two USA Master Weightlifting Hall of Famers  Coach Osman Manzanares and Coach Rob Arroyo in 2018, Combining the State of Washington and Tennessee we became Fort Nash Weightlifting Club.

The purpose of Fort Nash Weightlifting Club is to have a competitive team that represents athletes Nation Wide and Internationally.

Has over 38+ years of experience in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting as a coach and an athlete. During that time, he has reached many achievements.

Some of those achievements are: Representing his home country of Honduras in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Spain. While in Honduras he was a Central American Champion and Record Holder.

 

He moved to the United States in 1993 after the Olympics. Since then, he has represented the United States as a National and International Competitor.  As a Master Athlete, Coach Osman has excelled in many competitions.

 

He has been 18 times Master National Champion in the USA; 10 times Pan American Champion and 3 times World Master Champion. He also holds the current Records in the Pan American 73Kg class in age group of 55-59. He is the current Record Holder in the Howard Cohen Master American73 KG Class and in this class he also holds the Usa Master National Record.

 

He has been inducted to the Hall of Fame 3 times, first in the USA Master Weightlifting Federation, 2nd Pan American Masters Weightlifting Association and 3rd in Tennessee Power and Strength Hall of Fame.

In 2001 He brought Olympic Weightlifting to Nashville Tn and is the Founder of Nashville Weightlifting Club, he is a National Coach, and his experience and knowledge has giving him the opportunity to help hundreds of athletes around the world reach their full potential as Olympic Weightlifters. Under the guidance of Coach Osman, Nashville Weightlifting Club has been highly recognized nationwide for creating athletes of all levels with Local, State, National and International levels.

 

Coach Osman is a USA Master Weightlifting Federation National Coach and an IWF Level 2 Referee. He is also the Treasurer of the Pan American Master Weightlifting Association.

 

As an athlete and coach, he has traveled around the world and among those countries he has visited Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Spain, Canada, Holland, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Chile.

For over 35+ weightlifting has played a major role in Rob’s life.
During his career Rob has competed, coached, managed, gym owner, referee and served in the U.S. Army as an officer for 22+ yrs.Rob has been a competitive Olympic Weightlifting since college.He was a 4 times L A I (Intra-Athletic Collegiate League in PR) Champion and Record Holder in the 75kg category; he was also Member of the Puerto Rico Olympic Weightlifting Team and Record Holder from 1997 to 1998, 145 Snatch and 175 C&J at the 83kg.

 

He also traveled all over the world including Venezuela, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Spain,Canada, Germany, Denmark, New Zealand, Italy, Turkey & Bulgaria Training & Competing Olympic Weightlifters at the National & International Level. Rob trained in Bulgary from 1992-1993 under the training guidance of the legendary Bulgarian Coaches Karushkov & Dimitar Stoykov. 

Today as a Member of the U.S.A. Olympic Weightlifting, Rob is
extremely active in Olympic Weightlifting Sports.Among the many
activities Rob is Registered as a U.S.A. Master Weightlifting, a
Certified USAW Level 2 Coach (Advanced Sports Performance), IWF Level1 Referee, Volunteer in the Washington Local Olympic Weightlifting Committee, Vice-Chairman / Secretary for Master Pan-American Weightlifting Federation. 

He is one of the Head Coaches at Fort-Nash Weightlifting Club.  Rob is the current Master Pan-American, National & American Champion and Record Holder in the 96Kg & 89 kg Weight Class, 50-54 category.

In addition, Rob placed 1st Place at the 2023 Master World Weightlifting Championship in Orlando, Florida, USA / 1st Place at the 2019 Master World Championship in Montreal, Canada and 1st Place & Records holder at the 2017 Master World Games, IWF Master World Games & World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.

Rob was also inducted to the Washington State Power & Strenght Hall of Fame in 2020 USA Master Hall of Fame in 2022.
